Each year more than 1,200 teenageers and young adults are seen by a team of health professionals (physicians, nurses, nutritionists, and psychologists and social workers) specially trained to hanle their unique problems.

The UAB Divison of Adolescent Medicine provides specialty and sub-specialty services for patients at the William A Daniels, Jr. Adolescent Health Center located in Park Place on the campus of Children's Hospital.

This clinic specializes in both primary care and subspecialty consultation for adolescents ages 11 - 19. All attending physicians are adolescent medicine fellowship-trained pediatricians. Services include comprehensive health assessments, care of acute illness and minor trauma, sports physicals, family planning, acne management, sexually transmitted disease prevention and management, weight management, evaluation of menstrual disorders, medical follow-up of victims of sexual assault, and consultations for complex or unexplained medical problems.
